How to Alter Any Experience’s Emotion

Sub-modality is the representational system that we attached to our experience, to explain that better. When information from the outside reaches our brains, our mind processes it in the form of sights, sounds, taste and smell feelings. These 5 senses or so call VAKOG is a combination that forms our subjective experience of the world

how we experience outside world within us. Consult a life coah

Every time we communication whether is inner to (our self) or outer self (to others) is largely a description of our feeling or experience through our 5 senses

What are these 5 senses and how they operate?

Again we mentioned that these 5-sense in which we receive information are pictures, sounds, smell, taste and feelings.
Which called the VAKOG, it is visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory and gustatory
When we express our feelings to others it is always through a combination of these 5 senses or modalities.

What is these sub modality or representational systems?

I guess the best way to describe it is to demonstrate that by given examples
One example you might have a past mild memory about walking on the beach then you might associate this memory to the picture of the oceans, sound of the bird in the sky, kids playing in the water, you also might be feeling the sand or the water touching your toes, you might also smell the ocean breath
Another example we might associate a certain childhood memory whether is good or bad to a certain image or sound or feeling in your head which it might be a sound of parent yelling or saying something, feeling the hugs, presents or smell of a certain food specially baked will take you back to childhood memory. That is how you store memories in your mind

We can change or shift some modality and your emotional reaction will change as well
for example if you make a picture or image bigger will enhance the experience, making it small will reduce your stimulus, this reduce the reaction. the same with brightness/dimmer, clear or buzzy.
same as sound loud/ far-away

Enhance a Pleasurable Experience

I want you to recall a wonderful memory. It can be recent or old. Simply relax, close your eyes, and consider it. Make that image brighter and brighter by now. Be mindful of how you are feeling as the image gets brighter. I’d like you to then bring that mental image closer to you. Stop now and enlarge it. What happens if you alter the picture? Does it alter how intense the experience is? For the vast majority of individuals, enlarging, brightening, and getting closer to a happy memory makes it even more intense and enjoyable. It boosts the internal representation’s strength and enjoyment. You become considerably more powerful and joyful as a result. consult a life coaching service near you.

Reduce a Bad Experience

Let’s attempt the same procedure with a bad photograph. I want you to reflect on a painful or upsetting event in your life. Make that photograph brighter by taking it now. Bring it up to your face. Increase the size. What is happening within your head? Most people discover that their unhappy situation has gotten worse. The negative emotions they once experienced are stronger than ever. Place the image there once more. What happens if you move it away, make it smaller, and make it dimmer? Try it out and observe how your emotions differ. You’ll find that the unpleasant emotions are no longer powerful. consult a relationship coach and mentoring.
